Who this article is for: Plug In SEO users who want to understand how scan credits and page rechecks work. What you will learn: How to use your global and per-page scans effectively to track and confirm SEO improvements. |
Global Scans (SEO Scanner)
When you click “Recheck” in the SEO Scanner, the app runs a global scan — checking your entire store for SEO issues.
The number of global scans you can run each month depends on your plan, which you can review under My Profile → Plan & Pricing.
Running a global scan is ideal after you’ve made broader updates to your store, like fixing multiple issues, updating your theme, or adding new products or blog posts.
💡 Tip: Before running a new global scan, make sure you’ve added the keywords you want to target in the Keyword Studio. This helps the app evaluate your store’s SEO performance more accurately.
Page Rechecks (Individual Pages)
Each product, collection, or page has its own “Recheck this page” button.
You can use this feature as many times as you want — there’s no limit.
A page recheck is best used after you’ve fixed the SEO issues for that specific page. It’s a quick way to confirm that your changes worked without running a full-site scan.
When to Use Each
✅ Page Recheck: After fixing issues on a specific product, blog, or collection.
🌐 Global Scan: After working on your site more broadly — updating titles, descriptions, or adding new pages.
By combining both types of scans, you’ll keep your store SEO-ready at all times while making the most of your available scan credits.
