Fix It: Blog Check Own Domain

Quickly Fix This Issue

If your blog is hosted on a platform other than Shopify, then you're losing potential traffic and the good ranking that comes from visitors spending more time on your website. You never want to send traffic AWAY from your website unless it's to your social channels. 

To resolve this issue, go to Settings in the Blog Check and make sure that both your blog URL and website URL are using the same domain. 

Sometimes when setting up Plug In SEO you'll use your .myshopify.com domain for your website URL, and the public facing, non Shopify URL for your Blog - this will also trigger the warning. 

The default URL for Shopify blogs will be 

YourURL/blogs/news
